From 14th-16th November, building industry professionals from all around the world will gather in Chicago for the largest conference and expo on sustainability in the built environment.
By offering a wide range of workshops, summits, tours and events, the host, US Green Building Council, will provide all participants plenty of opportunities to learn, discuss and explore.
After being invited as a guest to the LEED International Roundtable at Greenbuild Boston in 2017, and being a sponsor to Greenbuild Europe 2018 in Berlin, EnviroSustain is delighted that it will also attend the fair in Chicago 2018.
About Greenbuild Chicago 2018
Founded in 2002, the Greenbuild International Conference & Expo has become the number one event on sustainability for building industry professionals globally. The last event in Boston in 2017 had more than 24,000 attendees and 703 exhibiting companies. The program included a keynote address by former President Bill Clinton and a closing plenary speech by renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson.
This year’s conference theme is “Human X Nature” and is officially described as follows:
“The green building movement embraces all of humanity by making sustainable buildings and environments accessible to everyone, and in doing so, benefits the natural environment all around us. We are helping people understand their role in protecting and preserving the natural environment and leveraging the built environment to:
- Enhance human health and wellbeing
- Ensure resilience
- Mitigate climate change
- Enhance community and social equity
- Restore and protect our ecosystems
- Enhance building efficiency and performance
- Promote sustainable design
The future of the human race is interlaced with the future of the planet, and the sustainable practices we celebrate and advance at Greenbuild remind us that our success as sustainability advocates, practitioners and professionals is more than a movement, it is a responsibility.”
- International Summit, Tuesday 13th of November
- Opening Plenary featuring Amal Clooney (Human Rights Lawyer), Wednesday 14th of November
- Master’s Series: Safer Materials: In Green Chemistry We Trust (including John Warner as a speaker), Thursday 15th of November
We are delighted that Anna Denell (Vaskronan, Sweden), a former speaker of the 40 Percent Symposium, will present on: Green bonds – a way to finance a better future or just greenwashing. (Wednesday 14th, 3:00pm – 4:00pm).
Greenbuild and EnviroSustain
As part of the development process for European Alternative Compliance Paths for the LEED rating systems, EnviroSustain was invited to attend the LEED International Roundtable at Greenbuild 2017 in Boston. The unique energy and inspiring atmosphere of the event lead us also to register for Greenbuild 2018 in Chicago. For our existing and future clients our focus will be on:
- Holistic ESG approaches for real estate portfolios
- Connectivity of GRESB, LEED and ARC
- Identification of new excellent technical solutions to enhance building operations, health and wellbeing and energy performance
- Foster and expand our international network among sustainability driven building professionals
While attending the main event in the United States is a more recent addition to our agenda, we have a longer relationship with LEED events throughout Europe. EnviroSustain sponsored and spoke at Greenbuild Europe in Berlin this spring. Before Greenbuild expanded into the European market, EnviroSustain sponsored and lectured on a variety of LEED technical events in Germany and other European countries.
We are looking forward to a great event in a great city this November, as we continue our journey towards Healthy, sustainable space. For everyone.
If you would like to join us on this journey and meet us personally at Greenbuild Chicago 2018, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We would be delighted to hear from you.
