Rewilding Europe: Apennines, Italy
In September 2025, eight members of the team travelled to Italy’s Central Apennines, known as the “wild heart of Italy,” to experience firsthand the work being carried out by Rewilding Europe. Staying true to our commitment to low-carbon travel, the team journeyed entirely by land through the Alps, stopping in cities including Verona, Bologna and Rome along the way.
During the trip, the team explored freshwater ecosystems, visited a crayfish breeding station and helped release young, white-clawed crayfish back into mountain streams. They also worked alongside local experts in Pettorano, checking camera traps and learning about conservation efforts to protect the rare Marsican brown bear, one of the world’s most endangered bear species.
The experience highlighted the importance of biodiversity restoration and strengthened our belief that the future of the built environment must work in harmony with nature. The visit further reinforced our long-term partnership with Rewilding Europe and its commitment to positive environmental action.
Our Achievements
In September, six members of the team travelled to the Rewilding Oder Delta landscape. During their visit they supported the Oder Delta team in Glashütte by removing old fences and tackling invasive plants. They also crossed into Poland, where they joined a river clean-up by canoe in Police, collecting rubbish from the water before finishing the day with a well-earned team BBQ.
They stayed once again at Haffhus, a beautiful resort on the Stettin Lagoon, which hosted our Sommerfest (summer fest) in 2024. Hands-on experiences like these are part of our commitment to supporting rewilding and form an important part of connecting our work in real estate with the urgent need to restore biodiversity and tackle climate change.
Our team is our greatest strength. In 2025, we employed 29 people across 14 locations in Germany, as well as colleagues in Sweden and the UK. Nearly half of our team works remotely, and with 41% of employees working part-time, we continue to offer genuine flexibility in both where and how people work. This helps us support different lifestyles and family commitments while attracting and retaining talented people from a wide range of backgrounds.
Although we are geographically dispersed, staying connected is important to us. We bring the whole team together several times a year for workshops, social events and knowledge-sharing, helping to strengthen relationships and maintain our collaborative culture. We also continue to invest in learning and development, with 32 training courses and professional accreditations completed during the year, ensuring our team continues to grow alongside the evolving sustainability sector.
In 2025, Green Building Certifications still dominated service demand, accounting for 38% of business (down from 48% in 2024), with a focus on BREEAM certifications followed by LEED® and DGNB.
Unlike in other years, most of the revenue was generated in 2025 with Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) followed by BREEAM for existing buildings in Germany and GRESB consulting, altogether accounting for almost 49% of our revenue.
For the coming year, we expect to see rising demand for certifications (focus on existing buildings, but also new builds). Through new-build certifications (and ESG monitoring), we hope to strengthen the area of materials and circularity. Climate risk analysis as a service will also gain in importance.

Goals for 2026
We will support our clients on key sustainability challenges, including climate risk and resilience, biodiversity, sustainable materials and circular practices, helping them make more informed, future-focused decisions.
We will celebrate our 25th anniversary by creating dedicated time together as a team, recognising the people and relationships that have shaped EnviroSustain over the last 25 years.
We will continue sharing practical sustainability knowledge with clients and partners, helping to make sustainability more understandable, actionable and impactful across the real estate sector.
We will strengthen our internal capability through continued training, accreditations and professional development, ensuring our team remains informed and adaptable in a rapidly evolving industry.
We will continue developing the application of commercial and self-developed tools to improve collaboration, efficiency and the quality of our work.
We will continue to embed sustainability and positive impact into our decision-making, focusing on meaningful action and long-term value creation.
