Project Details

Efficient use of resources has a major influence on a building’s sustainability. For LEED certification the energy performance of the project building needs to be defined by thermal energy simulation. By creating a thermal model the total annual energy consumption of the building is determined and compared to a baseline building in accordance with LEED. The resulting energy analysis may be used to optimize the building’s commissioning procedures and to contribute towards enhanced energy performance during its operation.

Regarding this building, which is located in Munich, the thermal simulation played an important part in achieving excellent marks and the award of a LEED Gold rating. Especially the efficient lighting combined with the use of renewable energy forms resulted in enhanced whole building energy performance.
