Deciding for or against a particular building material plays an important role in terms of long-term environmental impact. A detailed analysis will be needed in most cases to weigh up between embodied carbon and potential energy savings in building operation.
As overall energy efficiency of our buildings continues to increase, the role of embodied carbon in the building materials used will become increasingly important.

While many companies are already taking comprehensive measures to minimise the effects of climate change as far as possible, it is also true that climate change is inevitable in the near and distant future.
